Laser and inkjet are the two
most popular printers in the market. Apart getting the printouts, both are used
for different purposes by different herds of people. Let us know the sole
difference between these two. Here in this infographic I have figured out the differences between
both which can help you to find out the best for you.
Prices: The prices of inkjet printers are cheaper than the prices of laser
printers. Almost all brands have both the varieties of these two, and the
prices of inkjet printers of all brands are much cheaper in comparison to their
laser printers.
Usage: Inkjet printers are specially manufactured to target the home
users. If you are looking for a printer for personal use and you do not need
large number of printouts, then inkjet is a better option for you. These are
not very pricey and will give you quality text and image prints. And if you are
looking for a printer for commercial purpose, and you have estimated that you
would need about 50-100 pages per day, then buying a laser printer would be
more suitable for you.
Printing cost per page: As inkjet are meant for
personal and small business needs, it is more suitable for those who take less
number of printouts. Though the inkjet printers are inexpensive but the
printing cost is quite higher. Inkjet printers consume more ink than the laser
printers. If you have to print about 10000 pages from both of these, the inkjet
will consume about 45 cartridges, while the laser printer will only take 8-9
cartridge replacements. And for the same reason, companies and offices do not
use inkjet printers. Initially investments for the former could be less, but it
takes guts to use inkjet printers for larger purposes. Even if offices stick to
inkjet printers and use ink refill kits for them, the cost again would be quite
higher than the cost of refill kits for laser printers, plus the mess created
after the refilling operations.
Cost of Cartridge: The cost of the cartridges of both these printer
is far different. The cost of inkjet cartridge is quite affordable but the cost
of original inkjet cartridge and laser toner cartridge is very high, about five to
ten times high. But, laser printers’ original ink cartridges last long, and
give more number of printed pages than the cartridges of inkjet printers.
Quality of printer: When it comes to get better
texted prints, inkjet printers are best. Inkjet printers give unmatchable text
prints, but when you need both the text and the image at one go, laser printers
will work dexterously and give you the best results.
Speed: And if
you want quality prints frequently, laser printers should be preferred. Unlike
inkjet printers, laser printers do not paste (print) the image on paper in a
slow process, they give you the fast speed prints using a laser beam and the
heat.
